An air purifier draws in indoor air and passes it through filters that capture airborne particles. Depending on the filtration system, these may include fine particles, pollen, dust and pet allergens. An activated carbon filter can also reduce certain odours. An air purifier complements ventilation and does not replace a supply of fresh outdoor air.

Consider the room’s floor area, ceiling height and the appliance’s CADR. CADR stands for Clean Air Delivery Rate and indicates the amount of purified air delivered per hour. A higher CADR means that room air can be filtered more quickly. Compare the specifications of WINIX models and choose enough capacity for your situation.

An air purifier with a suitable HEPA filter can capture airborne pollen, fine dust and other small particles from indoor air. Particles originating from pets can also be filtered. Performance depends on factors including filter quality, airflow capacity, placement and operating time. An air purifier does not prevent allergens from re-entering the home.

A HEPA filter captures small airborne particles such as fine dust, pollen and dust particles. An activated carbon filter targets certain odours and gaseous substances. Many WINIX air purifiers combine these technologies with a pre-filter for larger dust particles. The filter components provided vary by model.

This depends on the WINIX model, filter type and conditions of use. Some carbon filters are replaced more frequently than HEPA filters, while other models use complete filter sets. Check the manual and the information for your appliance’s original replacement filter. Clean a pre-filter only as instructed by WINIX.

Noise depends on the model and selected fan speed. A higher setting generally moves more air but is also more audible. Many WINIX air purifiers have a quiet or automatic mode. For bedroom use, compare the stated noise level and capacity at the setting you actually intend to use.
